September 23, 2009

We've had a busy month of September with weddings, funerals, doctors appointments. I am on vacation for 2.5 weeks and enjoying not having to go to work! This is the new 'Save the Date Card' for our wedding that I made last night and will be mailing out soon. I was inspired by Jenn's wedding and went home the next day and FINALLY planned out our wedding. I even hired a photographer, set a location and date, and tried on some dresses... how exciting!

I've been having a lot of fun taking our own engagement photos lately and some friends photos as well. In my down time I've been going through the 'Master the Image' by Steve Mackley course. I've also been taking some senior photos, and they have come out really professional looking. I'm obviously not a master photographer (yet), but I'm hoping this may eventually turn into a career move? I love taking photos, I love the artistic side of editing the photos, and I love seeing people's faces when they see their photos for the first time! I still mostly use the automatic settings on the DSLR camera, but with some more practice and a couple classes that will change soon :)

We also got big news a couple days ago that Tim and I may be moving into the farm house. At first I was against the idea because I just adore our apartment. We have 3 bedrooms, a jacuzzi style bathtub, a fireplace and tons of room for all my scrap-booking and sign making stuff. Plus our apartment is in-town, close to our jobs and more importantly just minutes away from all my favorite stores! The farm house adds about a 20 minute commute to all of those places, it's cold in the winter, and I always think there are escape convicts living in the HUGE barn (yes, I have irrational fears... I know). However, the more I thought about it I came up with a long list of positives as well.

*We can set up a large fenced in area out back for Kenzie to run around (She loved that at the Merganser house, and frankly I don't think it's going to be all that fun walking her during Maine blizzards this winter).

*If we're living at the farm it will make for a Beautiful wedding location!

*The barn could be turned into a Gi-normous indoor photography studio, with minimal cost!

*Tim could start his disc golf coarse that he's been dreaming of... then if we decide to have kids in the next couple years we'd both be able to work from home (that's a BIG incentive for me).

*Plus the farm has a lot of family history and sentimental value. Amazing views of the White Mountains, and 1oo acres or so of land to watch the sun rise and set everyday... peaceful!

August

I can't believe August has come and gone already. We had a great month. We moved into our new apartment, we celebrated Kenzie's Birthday, and Tim proposed on August 6th. I haven't been able to post any digital scrapbooking pages due to our job and confidentiality, but I have switched jobs and will be posting-galore! Here is a simple & cute page I made after Tim & I got engaged this month.
